Bed Box !
We bought this at the thrift store, thought it was a garden fence at first glance, we will be planting only flowers in it in the spring. As for now there is some chamomile (for tea) and a wall-flower.

Re: Bed Box !
Chopper, no not from the street, you don't need to drive around ! you are welcome to come over some time to see it and my garden , such as it is, under constuction. I will PM you sometime, tomorrow I will be gone all day.
Acara, what do you want to know ? we lined it with an old tarp and used the staple gun to attach it to the frame. It sits on some pavers. Wish I could afford to fill it with MM but am saving that for my veggie boxes. Wonder how long it will last in these elements ! well, we had to try it , seems very sturdy, got the idea from a magazine I saw sometime ago. Will posr pix in spring.

Is it all wood/plastic ...or is there metal in there too (and did you have to coat/paint it)?

The bed frame itself is a hard wood don't know what kind, its heavy, came already painted seems sealed pretty good, we are guessing a semi gloss enamel paint , and it has a metal bedframe attached with locking hubs that interlock together at each end of the frame. Seems to be holding up ok in the rain we've had over the past few days.
I've seen fence post like this at places like Lowe's but made out of metal or acrylic materials, which would be better, maybe you could get a bed frame cheap , I know I've seen just the bed frame at the thrift stores , and drill holes into the fence and attach the frame with bolts? just a thought in case your wheels are turning ! you could probably come up with something better. Ours measures, 6'9"x4'9"

Re: Bed Box !
How absolutely sweet is that?
I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle

Very cute! Can't see any grids tho. You gotta make a "patchwork quilt" now!
