SFGers don't need dibbles!
Sorry, I just had to share this. All we need to do something like this in a SFG is our fingers!

Apparently some people think you need to spend $41 plus tax s&h to poke a hole in the soil. Look at this!

Re: SFGers don't need dibbles!
I use a stick, but I bet if i had clay like dirt I would want one of those traditional dibble
Re: SFGers don't need dibbles!
I keep an old wooden spoon in my tool tray and sometimes I use the tip of the handle to make an indent, but most of the time I forget and use my fingers.
I use the spoon itself to stir up my compost tea.

That's really cool, and well-made, and all....but that's a mind-blowing amount of work for something you're going to carry out to the garden, plunk down on the soil a time or two, and then put it away until next year!
I can see a set now - 1 x1 board with 1/square, 2/square, all the way up to 16/square for all the variations of different things you grow.
On second thought I think I'll just use my finger.
(I do have a dibble, for bulbs in my traditional beds, but it was a gift!)

Does that mean you dabble with dibbles?
Re: SFGers don't need dibbles!
If your hobby is growing specialty tulips that have twice the number of petals, is it a double dibble dabble?

But should we dissent about what to grow, it would then be a double dibble dabble squabble.
