Stem grown into side of squash
I've never seen this before, thought it was pretty interesting. (The scar in the is from a rose bush the squash had grown over.) Part of the stem is grown right into the fruit and there is at least one blossom coming out of there.....

Oh my goodness, I'm crying I'm laughing so hard....
Too bad I have to rip my garden out. Faking up a pair of feet sticking out of the ground under the rampicante vines would be a FABULOUS Halloween decoration!!!!

Re: Stem grown into side of squash
I pulled EVERYTHING today... that squash is huge, and its twin brother is even bigger, I think... have to weigh them. I am absolutely drenched (yay for ripping out a garden in 3 hours in the pouring, pouring rain....NOT!) and done for tonight, but I'll have to post some pics of the booty.
