Hi eaglescout, and welcome to the forum!

I'm in MI, so not that from you in OH, so I can probably speak to this. I find most veggies easy to grow, but greens are probably the easiest. I grow romaine lettuce, spinach, kale, and mustards. Most of these are able to withstand both the cold and hot weather, and seem to do fine when watered! Since the Sq. Ft. method dictates that you are growing everything in great soil, there's no worries there. I succession plant most of these for most of the growing season, so I have them around for longer. And they all grow pretty quickly; I usually harvest the young leaves. If you like squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, and beans, those are pretty easy to get along with, too, just requiring a little more work in planting than the greens. Most herbs are very easy and rewarding, for me, too.

I'm sure others will respond, so get you list started! Good luck! Hello from Ohio Icon_biggrin
