Garden up date
garden july 29, The weather that was hot has now been cool, below 60 at night, 80's during the day. The garden was looking bad when I came home from 10 days in Or. over the fourth, tomatoes looking spindly, flowers not producing. I have had some luck in turning things around, now almost all of the flowers are producing fruit. So far we have harvested four tomatoes with 75 on the way! Six yellow squash, three cucumbers, lots of swiss chard (now starting to grow better) romain lettus ( under shade) basil is going strong now that I'm cutting the tops off. Pole beans starting to produce, bush beans still not doing much ( not enough sun light in that corner) Black Krim tomatoe is coming back after some type of black spec problem, but I think the purple charokee is now having a problem. The beef stakes are starting to produce, the early girls (except one in pot) grew tall and spinly but now is producing fruit at each level. The one in the pot is a dwarf 12 inches tall with over ten tomatoes. I also have a padio tomatoe that is 16 in tall w/ 20 tomatoes and more every day. This is starting to be fun! |

Re: Garden up date
Garden Mark,
Strange cool weather, isn't it. My garden is acting strangely too. At least it wasn't really hot when you were away.
Your garden looks great and it seems to be recovering nicely. Thanks for sharing.
