Turning TT boxes to make a diamond shape instead of a square?
Has anyone tried turning their boxes to make a diamond shape instead of a square facing the sun? I want to try this with my 4X4 TT boxes because it seems that this would give me more squares for vine crops (7 instead of just 4) per box. The vine crops would be trained to grow downward on two adjacent trellises (45* angle to the sun) on the southeast and southwest sides, so they would not block the sun from smaller plants at all like a ground box would. My yard here in Florida gets full sun all day long, so I'm thinking this would probably work, but would love to hear that someone else who gets lots of sun has done this successfully!
Even if you haven't tried it, I would stell love to hear your opinions/suggestions.
Really enjoying SFG ...what a stress reliever!

My garden is on a diamond lay out. I like the layout but I actually get fewer squares for vining crops. (Some of that has to do with the location of our house on our lot.) If you think the layout will work for you go ahead and try it. I am a quilter and claim that my garden is laid out on point. Happy Gardening.

Thanks, Patty. The diamond design is attractive to me...I have lots of room and lots of sun, so I'm going to give it a shot!
