MM has my vote. So much fun to play in it with bare hands. Plus it really works.

I Agree! MM is about the most important basic to get right too.

IMO MM is probably the most important and also hardest thing to get right ... right after sun exposure, which, if you ain't got it, you ain't got it. At least poor MM might still be pretty good, if only because of all the good structure and water retention you get from vermiculite and peat and even most poor composts and compost blends. But the sun is the boss of you.

I agree, MM. I can plant in a bed, container, pot, tabletop, or on the ground with MM and get good results.
