I almost gave up on SFG until.....
I did everything right, I did the boxes, mixed the magic Mel's recipe, planted the seeds even transplanted some stuff but it wasn't happening. Why, why why??!! There I was, staring at the squares for almost a month, nothing.
But then, today, it was like a whole new world! I looked at the 4x4 square and there it was, I couldn't believe it, it was there. All this time I was going over the boxes, seeing nothing, not having anything to do until I got....
MY FIRST WEED!!!
I just couldn't take it anymore, all I did was water and plant seeds, watching the stuff grow. Booooooring! LOL, well, not really, pretty rewarding though.
Oh, here is what I did to that weed...
*YAAAANK* *SQUISH*
Ahhhhh, felt good!
Here are the pics of my first 4 boxes, pretty plain right now, we only had 2 really warm days lately.
Here are my bush beans saying "HI!"
The grape vines are not in a SFG box but they sure love Mel's Mix.
Well, looks like I have to pull some more weeds... darn, they just pop up don't they.

Oh, Chopper... don't make Ayanefan feel bad. I'm SURE it was a weed... I'm ABSOLUTELY sure that he pulled that nasty weed from a square in his bed that hadn't been planted (or the weed was obviously in a place that he didn't seed).
Ayanefan...Isn't is gratifying when you DO find things like beans popping up!

Sorry! And the excitement level is obvious since you brought the camera out! It is exciting but you are right, there is far too little to do once it is set up. You feel like you should be out there helping it along somehow.

Hee hee, I get the humour, all good . I have some beets coming out, the fun thing is that the leaves look the same as some of the weeds but the beet undersides are red so I'm learning. I just find it interesting that I find some radish growing in my carrot squares, I have no idea how they got there. I suspect watering probably moved a seed over.
On a side note, my compost stopped cooking and is just rotting away in a wet mess, it's still OK I think. The interesting part in this story is that it is a slug haven and potatoes are growing in it. I'll have potatoes by the end of the summer!
