Hello! From GA! Newbie
Hello, everyone! I'm kinda new to gardening, however I worked in my parents' garden every year as a child and teenager. I learned a lot from them, including canning. With all that experience, I bombed in my garden last year. So, I'm getting ready to try it again this year. I'm willing to learn for my mistakes and from others. Here's to a great year of gardening!

Re: Hello! From GA! Newbie
Welcome to the Forum from California. The best place to start is to read the 2nd or 3rd Edition of the book, All New Square Foot Gardening. Raised beds filled with Mel's Mix and topped with a grid. I think the rate of success with this method is the Mel's Mix, which is 1/3 compost to feed the plants, and 1/3 fluffed peat moss and 1/3 coarse vermiculite for friability and moisture retention. The book is quick reading and has a lot of photos and diagrams.
