New from AZ
Hello from northern Arizona, zone 6b/7a. I have raised beds and containers. I did better this year but have a hard time with heat, bugs and keeping up with the watering. I share a greenhouse or hoop house and I want to use this method in there for the winter. So much more could be grown this way! I am excited to give it a try

I ordered the 3rd edition from Amazon and should get it this week! I am hoping to grow some root vegetables. broccoli, cauliflower and maybe some greens like spinach or kale. The people who made and erected our hoop house said we can use two 55 gallon water drums painted black to bring some warmth to the plants. This will be our first winter, so we shall see.

Re: New from AZ
One thing you should be thinking of right now is getting the composts, coarse vermiculite and compressed peat moss sourced. Vermiculite is ordered online. In Phoenix AZ you should be able to find 2 good composts: Malibu Bu's Blend and E B Stone Organic Compost and their worm castings. In CA, I use 1 bag of Bu's to 2 bags of E B to keep the manure content at 20% of the total composts. Compressed peat moss can be found at most HD, Lowes, etc.
