Hello from West Palm Beach, FL
I'm recently retired and putting together several beds in my backyard. The heat and rain down here have been off the charts, although recently, there have been signs of cooling down (88 instead of 95 lol). Looking forward to learning a lot here and in the yard.

Welcome to the forums from Ohio, Grumpy! Retirement gives us a great opportunity to hone our gardening skills - I've been practicing that for 20-some years, and loving every minute of it.
As already mentioned, be sure to take photos of your progress and let us follow along with you. You may want to start your own thread in the regional forum to track your progress.

Grumpy, I'm late to the party. Welcome from California. We love photos so please post them.

Hi GrumpyG! Welcome to this forum! I live in Ft. Lauderdale and work in WPB. It was a big learning curve for me when I started gardening here, but this group was a huge help! Last year, because of the pandemic we had so many new gardeners, so I launched this YouTube channel to help them in our climate to help cut that learning curve.GrumpyG wrote:I'm recently retired and putting together several beds in my backyard. Also, I recently spoke at the Rare Fruit Council of Palm Beach, and next week the St. Lucie group is having me give that same presentation. Of course my message of soil building applies to our SFG beds as well...
Happy gardening!

Thanks Marie! Of course I'm sharing the best advice I have on the YouTube channel now, but glad the archives here can help people deal with the issues I faced. Hope you're doing well!AtlantaMarie wrote:Hi GrumpyG. Welcome from Atlanta, GA! Got family in Delray. We're glad you've joined us... And congrats on retirement!!
