High Mowing Organic Seeds e-letter reminds us that May 29th is National Composting Day. From their e-letter:
Saturday, May 29th is National Composting Day. It is a day to raise awareness about how compost reduces waste that would otherwise go to the landfill, increases organic matter and beneficial biology in our soils, stores water during times of drought and feeds the plants we grow nutrients that are essential for healthy development.
Composting helps repurpose organic waste materials while simultaneously providing economic and ecological benefits when used in gardens, landscaping, and on farms.
Using plants and compost together, we can build healthy soils
