Hello From Philadelphia, PA
Hi everyone,
I won't write much since I've already written and lost two long messages on the forum today. I have just completed and planted my 2' x 8' x 20" raised bed. It's extra tall to keep the dogs from roaming through it. I'm new to Square Foot Gardening and the only disappointment is the guidelines for how much I can plant per square. I somehow thought I would be able to plant more in the space.

Welcome, Teresa! You'll find that the amount of plants you can grow per square foot it not very limiting. With the rich Mel's Mix, and succession planting, you will be able to grow a lot of high quality vegetables in that space. You are somewhat limited by having a bed only 2' wide instead of 4', but it still gives you 16 squares to grow vegetables in. Meanwhile, my raised beds have grown to a little over 250 sq ft to accommodate everything I want to grow.
