With grow light stations ranging from $60 (for a single plant!) to $300 (admittedly very nice), I thought I'd see if I could come up with something a bit less expensive to baby my starting plants. Put this together with a very stiff cardboard box thanks to Costco, a aluminum work light fixture (Home depot), a lath (leftover from SFG), and a grow light. The GE BR30 grow light was the most expensive part ($11). But I may need to "shop" for a slightly bigger box. I may also line it with foil to maximize the 9w light.

I don't even know if this will work, and I already want another!

Looks good to me!  I just use a fluorescent shop light fixture on a shelving unit!
