Compost Tea gone wrong
I made the mistake of filling a garbage bin with stinky compost and adding water before I realized I should have mixed in more carbon and had good compost BEFORE making the tea. So for weeks now I've had stinky compost water. When I stir it it smells like sewage. I can't really strain it, but what can I do to turn it around? I stir it from time to time, but I am afraid I'm just growing bad organisms in there vs. good ones that I can put anywhere.
Can anyone shed any light on how to redeem this tea fail?

throw it away, but in a place where it won't affect your garden or plants, it has gone anaerobic

That's the million dollar question. Where do you dispose of sludge?

just pour it in the corner of the yard. the soil organism will consume it within a week in the spring. It's warm where you're located. it probably be consumed within a week. You can spray molasses on it to bring the microorganism or open a hole in the ground , pour it in, cover it. The soil microbes will do the rest and the smell will not be present.

Re: Compost Tea gone wrong
The stink is from anaerobic bacteria breaking down the compost. It is still a form of soil nutrient, but the compost breaking down can contain anaerobic pathogens that would rather reside in humans (think e.coli and listeria). It can be tilled into the soil but DO NOT use it for a foliar feeding. That's what causes all the pre-packed salad mixes to be recalled.
