Well, my daughter had a gardening teacher at Riverhomelink that taught SFG and now that I have my own house, I am starting my SFG in the HOA's community garden. No one else's garden looks like mine, lol! But then no one's garden looks like another's anyway. The first week, I put up two boxes in the rain and hail and strained my neck and shoulder so I just planted this last weekend finally! I still have the other two boxes to put up, but am not going to do it alone, so waiting on a friend and my schedules to coincide. I'm very excited though, and love the time I spend in the garden.

There's not a lot of us-we just talk a lot. Very Happy

Welcome to the forum. It's great that you finally have a chance to try sfg. We have a number of active members who are doing their sfg gardening in community type plots. Their box set-ups do get a lot of attention. Be sure to check out the PNW regional forum here for more localized information.

Happy Gardening

A nice dry hug and a cyber neck rub! I don't know how I would garden if not for the labor of my husband and sons. How did the mixing of the Mel's go? That wasn't what you were doing in the rain was it?

Welcome to the wild adventure of Pacific Northwest gardening!

Oh yes, that was what I was doing in the rain! It was crazy! I ended up with not enough to fill both my boxes all the way, so we shall see what happens with a little less than 6". I did somehow manage to find 5 kinds of compost somehow... I've put up water walls for my tomato and pepper starts. I don't know if it will help or not. This weather has been YUCKY!!! not warm for them at all.
