Big Bug ? Empty Big Bug ?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I found this bug on my fence this morning the body is shaped like a beetle, I've never seen one like this one it was about two inches long and was black and white.Big Bug ? Img_2610

Click beetle!  I love you I haven't seen a huge one in many years. Northern one(s) are a different species than what you have. That one could be a Texas click beetle:

Of the Alaus genus, Bugguide says "Larvae feed on larvae and pupae of various insects, esp. beetles"
