Horizontal trellis / support for bush beans and peas
With permission, I am posting an idea for horizontal support for bush beans and peas. SFG Laurie Bryan Wardle. The trellis is actually home made instead of store bought, but it is done so nicely you can't tell.

Home made is the best!

Re: Horizontal trellis / support for bush beans and peas
i was trying to think of something to support them. Most of my bush beans didn't get tall enough for that but it's a great idea. I wound up using little bamboo BBQ skewers and tying each plant to one. Those bush beans are a lazy bunch.

Re: Horizontal trellis / support for bush beans and peas
My late father bought 4x8 foot grid sheets of welded rebar from a construction supply company. He rolled them up then secured them with baling wire then stood them over his bean, pepper, tomato plants and others. He used them for decades.
I like to make an inverted "U" of electrical conduit then hang 10x15 foot nylon webs from them. I find the webs here in Atlanta at Home Depot and Lowes for about US $10.
