Terrace SFG setup
I dont have much space in backyard i have to depend on terrace i have one SFG box so far but i do have plan to expand i see i can expand till 9-12
I see some issues in terrace box...
1. Heavy air - i see some time eggplant flowers are falling i hope its due to air.. ?
2. Worried of floor... heavy sand ...
3. While watering is see the compost tea is running on my terrace with a black patch i have to clear it often..
Is anyone doing SFG in there terrace if so please share your view in above points or anything you come across.
Please share the photos if you can.
I am not using Mel's mix as i am not getting ingredients.

Re: Terrace SFG setup
1. Is it hot and humid right now? Plants struggle just like people do when the weather is "heavy" and hot. Do you have a shade cloth over them to protect against direct sun? Sheer (see-through) curtains or material, cotton bed sheet material.
2. Sand and dirt are very heavy. Can you get some coconut coir to use as 1/3 of mix. I know vermiculite is not obtainable there.
3. Yes, the brown liquid (tannin?) does run out the bottom of every box whether it is on the ground or on a terrace.
Gardening on a roof top requires a strong roof that can support the weight.
