OMG!!! I'm such a bulk buyer that I'd probably end up with 10 of them.
If she takes your receipt for your first purchase with her they may refund the diff.

OK, ok. She bought two..... BUT she says they only have 5 more and at a 75% discount, what is a feller to do???? It's so sad to just leave them there on that lonely old shelf.sanderson wrote:MrBooker wrote:My wife just called me from our local Wal-Mart. She found the Cedar 4x4 beds for $9.00. We went back to Wal-Mart yesterday and they still have five more of the beds. My wife said she should buy all of them.sanderson wrote:Mr. Booker, I know you will do the right thing.
(She's also a bulk buyer)
I had to take out a Double knock out rose to make room for the two new beds. I'm out of room in the back yard and now I'm eye balling the big flat spot in the circle driveway.

Mr. B, you don't have to USE all the boxes now. Just store some for when a current bed needs replacing. That's what I would do.

Sanderson. I guess you have me figured out. My wife went back and bought the other 5 beds ..sanderson wrote:Mr. Booker, I know you will do the right thing.
Getting this new bed together today. (When it cools down)
Another big score at Wally World today. 780 labels for just .25 cents per pack. Look at how thick they are.

Found the boxes! ...On the top shelf with no price, but near clearance signs. First employee summoned second employee who wasn't any taller than I was and couldn't really reach them either. He tried finding them elsewhere in the store, as the section I'd found was supposed to be overstock, but no dice. Eventually he awkwardly snagged one, went away to do a price check - $40. I felt bad, but declined to purchase them at that price. The labels weren't on sale either. Ah well. I tried.

Beetles, Maybe try the general manager for a price. Tell them that they are on sale elsewhere (name the states/cities of folks on this thread) Who knows . . .
Mr. Booker. Now don't you feel better doing the right thing? Mrs. Booker is a good woman You can think on where to put them this winter. Excellent score on 5" labels. I find I can write with pencil, and easily erase, on the rough side. Not that you need to re-use them, what with the number you bought. Just saying.

Beetles. Sanderson has the right idea. You can tell the general manager at your wal-mart that the beds were on sale for $9.00 and the labels were on sale for .25 cents at the Waterloo, Illinois Wal-Mart.BeetlesPerSqFt wrote:Found the boxes! ...On the top shelf with no price, but near clearance signs. Some folks on this forum even found the beds for $5.00 at their local Wal-Mart. Good luck and keep us posted.

Re: New SFG $19.00 @ Wal-Mart
Buying the other beds was mostly Mrs. Bookers idea. The beds were $155.00 savings. Thats 75% off. She wasn't going to let that deal slip away. MrsBooker and I have been married 52 years. She was 13 yrs old when we married and I was 17. She is still my girlfriend I know, I know, I'd go to jail for that now. lol.sanderson wrote:Beetles, Maybe try the general manager for a price. I tried to get my new bed finished yesterday but it was just to hot. It is 6:00 a.m here now and 74 deg.
Going to work now to finish the bed then going shopping for compost hoping to find some mark downs.

How about I post my receipt on this forum and you take it to wal mart. It has the store and everything you need on the receipt. Wife say wal mart does price comparison.BeetlesPerSqFt wrote:...I appreciate the advance, but ...introvert saysMrBooker wrote:Beetles. Sanderson has the right idea. A piece of paper would make me feel like I have more leverage. Things are a little crazy at the closest Walmart right now - college students just came back and are swarming to buy supplies.

Re: New SFG $19.00 @ Wal-Mart
The photos of the receipts are a great idea. For those in southern latitudes or like CA and AZ may not find the sales for another month or two because our growing season is longer. Hence, garden clear outs are later.
My Home Depot always has a pallet of torn bags at 50-75% off. I need to get over there to check to see if any of them are manure composts.

We go by Wal Mart and Rural King about every other day just to see if the discounted any good stuff. The discounted beds and labels were not posted on their website.sanderson wrote:The photos of the receipts are a great idea. Rural king has a huge pile of FREE pallets. Some good, some bad. I'm going to get enough pallets to build a double compost bin.

I haven't looked at pallets (nor have I looked at other threads for answers), so this may be a silly/obvious-answer question:MrBooker wrote:We go by Wal Mart and Rural King about every other day just to see if the discounted any good stuff. How do you know whether the pallet wood is treated or untreated?
Or with the new/different treatment does it not matter for a compost bin?
(Haven't been back to Walmart yet, it's a bit of a trip.)
