As someone who lives in a desert climate that is FASCINATING!  Thank you so much for posting it.  I would also add deep mulching with wood chips and the soil underneath would be moist, more fertile and teeming with life.  It's a great idea, I'm going to go check if they're available and for how much.  Thanks has55

Checked out the web site.  $$  Shocked Looks good for small saplings like Audrey is planting (poplar), and at least they are reusable each year. I think the concept is sound for dry climates.

looks like they'll last about 20 yrs from what I read. That makes it down to pennies, maybe in the negative zone.
