Hi Folks,

My Cucumbers are dying. The stems are rotting at the soil line. What could be causing this? How do I fix it? Last year they grew like gangbusters..

Can you post a photo? I'm very interested in this as I often have a tough time with cukes.

I will as soon as the next one goes south. I've thrown away all the dead plants and reseeded.

Last year it rained so much here in KC that my cucumbers were almost a total fail...they would rot at ground level once true leaves appeared.  The tiny survivors were then ravaged by mildew, pill bugs, and other bugs munching on the leaves.

I think the key is to keep re-seeding then cross your fingers.

Cukes look a lot better this year...I've been se-seeding about once a week since some seeds seem to have rotted in the ground recently when it poured every day for about a week.  I've also been more proactive with a basic fungicide spray.
