Mid-Atl - May 2016 - Honoring Mel
I just can't come up with a topic for this month because I am so heartbroken about Mel's passing.
SOOOOO this month I'd like to hear your ideas about what you/I/we can do individually and/or collectively to honor Mel and the 4 M's:
The Man - Mel
The Method - SFG
The Mission - End world hunger
The Movement - Get out there and spread the word

I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle

Kim, I know how you feel. Today was just sad, so I went into the garden and worked in the beds. All SFG. I think the Movement is what many folks feel they can do. Spread the word and demonstrate how great it is. The Man developed the Method in order to tackle the Mission.

On my facebook page is todays first of the season's mini harvest of asparagus. Paid my own tribute to him there. Going to carry on and continue to be one of his Garden Disciples and spread the word.

This man has left an amazing legacy. Think about it! He transformed gardening! Every time I stick my hand into my boxes and feel that silky wonderful medium! It is Mel's Mix!
The method, I mean, there is just no comparison to traditional row gardening. SFGing is the way to go. Productivity squared!
The mission? I believe several of us have supported a Boy Scout that Kim has sponsored on his way to Eagle in his endeavor to help a charitable cause though gardening! Many grass-roots efforts in our towns start like that! Food pantries, soup kitchens, seed to save the world....
And the movement. Here we all are. The more we can contribute, post, aspire, trial and error, share, ask questions, take photos, etc. the more we contribute as folks discover the SFG method and the wonderful people who I have come to know here!
Well done, Mel.
