Too much rain! Collards and beets wilted! Empty Too much rain! Collards and beets wilted!

The past few days South Florida has had an unusual amount of rain, and I just noticed that my collards, beets and swiss chard is very wilted from soggy roots.  Do you suggest I aerate the soil around the roots, cut off wilted leaves, or will they do you think they'll recover in my soggy MM?

More rain is expected this week. Ugh!  I might try covering them.  This is the first time this time of year we've ever had to drain our salt water pool so it doesn't overflow and kill the landscaping. We've drained from the top twice, taking it down a couple of inches each time.  I just brought the pool up because it's so unusual this time of year.

Wow, dstack I think I would cover until the rains stop. See what the more experienced folks say!

The rain has taken a short break today and the sun is actually out.  I need to let the moisture escape while it can, but will cover when the weather changes again.  This is just so odd!

Or, make a carport over the beds.  Just make sure it slopes. Too much rain! Collards and beets wilted! Table_14

In looking at the posts from other regions, it seems all of us are having strange weather, DStack...  And we in the south are supposed to be cooler & wetter this winter.  Since you're way down there, you'll probly just get the wetter...

Fortunately, since the rain gave us a little break, everything has perked up.  But then, I had also removed some of the saddest looking leaves, and I aerated the soil. We still have a high probability of rain all week.
