pepper plants and cool weather
Wondering if I should pull my pepper plants, take them inside to finish getting sweeter (red). ?
Temps at night is now reaching the upper 40s and lower 50s. Daytime up to 70s.
We freeze them for winter and I do have a few nice peppers still on the plants.

Nice peppers! Why not ride it out until chance of frost or freezing?
Re: pepper plants and cool weather
I could do that, no frost or even cold in the forecast, I just wondered if cool weather was detrimental to the maturing of sweet bell peppers, leave them in I will and report back..thank you

Re: pepper plants and cool weather
We had a rough few days of heat spring back at us this week, but otherwise, the cooler weather we're now starting to have (days in the 80's, nights as low as the high 40's) hasn't done anything but good for my peppers. They're ripening nicely and setting new flowers too.
Your nights sound the same as mine; your days cooler. I think your pepper plants should be fine for a little while at least, as long as you don't get the sort of weather that can take a quick 10 or 15 degree drop below average on any given night. High '40's isn't hurting mine, though.
