A warm hello from Waddell, AZ
I enjoy gardening in raised beds. Because Waddell is in central Arizona, the fall planting season is the beginning of our "cool" weather so we plant crops that people living in other climates grow in the spring during August and September here. Today's high is forecast to be 107˚ and the overnight low will be 82˚ so even though cabbages and carrots are on our local planting calendar, it's a little bit hard to motivate myself to do it. Hope you have a beautiful day!

Must be odd to be planting so out of sync with how most of the rest of the country plants!
Good luck to you! I know how it feels to have those temps -- we were supposed to have gotten to 108 yesterday and 102 is forecast for today. Even at 95 in the shade, I still don't like being out there. And your being in a state with more than enough desert, I wouldn't be surprised if you get some temperatures that dwarf what we get over here in Oregon.
Welcome to the forum and I hope it's a fun and useful read for you. We've got lots of great archives too, so if you have questions that nobody seems to be talking about now, you may find really good discussions around those same questions just waiting to be rediscovered.

Welcome from Ohio! You probably have a year-round garden, which would be nice!

Crademan, Welcome to the Forum from California! This part of CA receives many days of 100*F + days during the summer. There are folks on the Forum that garden in your type of climate so we totally understand the conditions. Shade cloth, mulch and water is our motto.

Our plants love mulch! Technical question, how did you post a weather forecast to your signature? I tried to put mine it but it just looks like a bunch of letters & back slashes. Also, I just learned that new folks cannot post links for 7 days. Surprising, but OK with me.

Aloha from Hawaii craderman. Our seasons are also out of sync with the mainland. We can grow a lot of good stuff and can't grow some I wish we could.
You will find lots and lots of wonderful advice and friends on this forum. Just be sure to respond to your emails that say a link is available.

from Kelejan in the Great White North. The temperature today had been 30C so it is not always white, we are having many forest fires to keep us warm here in British Columbia, same as Washington State.
I hope you are not having fires like California.

I followed the link you posted & think I've saved a Weather Underground Sticker to my signature. Knock wood, it will display starting 8-25 when my 7 day newbie period is over.
