Worm rescue

With all of the rain over the last 2 1/2 weeks I have set out on worm rescue missions a couple of times each day. When there is a slight break in the rain I walk the driveway, carport and patio collecting earthworms stranded on the concrete. I move them to my compost bin or my berm-in-progress.

I have averaged 12 to 18 per day.

Reminds me of that scene from 7 years in Tibet when the monks were saving all the earthworms where they were digging footers for movie house.

I am a worm rescuer as well, Elizabeth, especially when the sun comes out and they start to dehydrate.

I dont stand a chance rescuing any the birds perch close to the concrete and have a feast pouncing on them as they come out. My yard is still soggy so they also run to the garden boxes and compost piles. Which is a great thing.
