hello from the ozarks of southwetern missouri

Im New to SFG and am from southwestern missouri im excited to learn from all of you!

Welcome Gumby!  I am just up the road near Springfield.   There are a lot of helpful and knowledgeable folk here.  You will enjoy this place a lot.

Tell us a little about yourself and how you garden.  It is always nice to know a little about a new member.  Glad you are here.

last year was my fist year gardening. I instantly loved it! i made 2 raised beds out out of bricks they were rather large, (larger than a SFG) I grew many varieties of tomatoes like Black Krim, Pineapple and Green Zebras. I planted some bush beans. I tried to grow pumpkins last year but failed. I found the newest SFG book for 25 cents 3 days ago at the thrift store and love the concept and book im almost done reading it! I went up to baker creek heirloom seeds to buy some seeds this year. I realized that I want to grow mostly heirloom varieties. this year I am wanting to grow peppers, (i just put some different pepper seeds in one of my seed starter kit today) different tomatoes, melons, and a few flowers. I want to be successful in growing pumpkins this year. I love gardening and I want to become a master gardener this year as well. Gardening is my favorite hobby and I cant wait to do it the SFG way! I cant wait to learn from all of you the best ways to garden.

Gumby, that sounds like a good plan.  We go to Baker Creek in May for the festival but I ordered my seeds from them and now just waiting for some warmer weather.

Gumby,  Welcome to the SFG Forum from California!     Husband's family reunion was in Branson last summer so on the drive from St Louis airport to Branson, I wanted to "swing by" Baker Creek.  Took a very scenic road to the facility.  Thank goodness for iPhone GPS, or we would hive sworn we were lost! Everything was so GREEN!  Yes, we are here to help and to have fun.

thank you all! yeah baker creek is only about 90 minutes away, it pretty far but just close enough! I'm excited to do a SFG this year! i just got all my material from Home Depot and am about to start it soon!
