SFG Charity -- Volunteer Day in S. FL
I'm coordinating a volunteer day for The Need To Feed, which has two SFG locations (Pompano Beach & Deerfield Beach) in which they grow produce for food pantries in S. Florida. The master gardener is the one who "created a monster" by lending me Mel Bartholomew's book (2nd Edition). LOL... But that's beside the point...
If you are in, or near S. Florida and are available to join us on Friday, Sept. 5th please let me know.
Here's a video that I put together for the organization, and it was shot when we had our spring planting volunteer day. That's me with the white shirt and blue hat...
This time I'd like to see a larger group so we can get more beds planted, so please let me know if you can.
Thanks!

Good job on the video, nicely done! The speaker was very clear and fluid, too. It all came out very well.
Nice charity, too. It's great that people are volunteering in this economy. So many people are having such a prolonged rough time that there's hardly a volunteer that isn't sorely needed.

Thanks Marc! I'm the Senior Editor at an independent television production company. And recently the owner of the company started giving us a couple more of paid days per year to give back to the community.Marc Iverson wrote:Good job on the video, nicely done! I started at a church food pantry, and while taking out the trash I noticed a box garden on the property. The gardener (Keith Spillman, Trina's husband, is in the video wearing the camouflage hat) just happened to be there, and it was a match made in heaven! Like I said, he lent me the SFG book (Mel's second ed.), and I asked if they could use some volunteers and he was elated!
This is my first time opening up the volunteer opportunity to people outside my company because I'd like to see all of those beds put to good use....

Wow, that is a lotta beds!
Editing is fun. I went to film school, and always enjoyed editing and respected its power and artistry. Never did like handling film though, and am glad we've moved into the digital age.
