Boffer's humour
I enjoy the daily piece of humour than runs across the screen -- hats off to Boffer. But todays has me stumped. What does Tom Brokaw (he's a newscaster, right?) and a potato have in common? I know -- if you have to explain a joke....

Re: Boffer's humour
Commentator = common tater
In a more crude version, the joke may go something like this...
Did you hear about the little sweet potato that fell madly in love with Ferdinand Marcos (Robert Mugabe, Kim Jong Ill) ? Her folks wouldn't let her marry him 'cause he was just a dictater!

If anyone is a Laura Ingalls Wilder fan, you might remember the time in Little Town on the Prairie when Pa's riddle had them all stumped. He carried in two potatoes, balanced on the blade of his axe. No one could figure out the riddle even after he gave them a hint, "It's something you use in church."
The answer was, "Commentators on the Acts."
Boffer, keep 'em coming. You rock!

Re: Boffer's humour
I don't know much about gardening so if I couldn't have a little fun on the forum, I wouldn't have much to post. Besides, a good groaner is good for us!
