Planning your fall/winter garden. You might want to take this into consideration.

Doesn't look to promising for us here in the Southeast who are not used to this cold and wet weather.

I agree. I'm heading to the Philippines again this year.
Another version of the forecast concurs.

My sister is sailing around the world. She is now heading toward the Philippines to Samai (Near Davao) in South East Philippines.

Sigh...
Sheesh. The southeast can't catch a break. Hopefully the new policies (regarding how snow alerts will be handled) will prevent the city of Atlanta from embarrassing itself again.

Re: preliminary 2014-15 winter forecast by region
It would be great to have above average rain here. I wonder if the average is based on the historical 10" per year, or our new low of 2-3" per year??
Re: preliminary 2014-15 winter forecast by region
I don't know what average they are going by, but I'd bet on the last 10years It will be interesting in the PNW. If they can find enough water, the heat may be enough for a really good winter garden.

rainfall
for the entire year of 2013 for orange county was about 6.60 total in of rain for the entire year
so far this year 2.4 in of rain fall for 2014 so far 2014 is drier then last year which is sad
luckily for me were I live our water restrictions are not that bad part of orange county sits on a rather large unground lake. so that saying if we had a really bad earthquake and California would slip into the ocean isn't that far off but for us here in OC we just sink

Re: preliminary 2014-15 winter forecast by region
lol..not if my plans for me and my wife go throu...we will be moving to either north Dakota or Montana or both..LOL.
friend has a plumbing remodeling business in north Dakota and is expecting to get a large multi year multi million dollar contract with one of the casinos out there and will need extra people and if he does get it I am moving out there for the duration of the contract then most likely after moving to Livingston Montana where both my sisters live and get a job with the Montana state university as a student-teacher massage therapist aka teachers or students come to us to get massaged.
and yes I am a certified neuromuscular massage therapist..medical side of massage therapy and regular massages too
