2014 Garden pics
Some pics of the garden's progress:
Snowpeas in foreground (still producing despite the heat) Parsnips and Danver carrots behind.
First attempt at sweet potatoes
Taken from the north side facing south. Total of 6 boxes.
View from the front of my house.
Potato Onions, Garlic, tomatoes by the trellis - this was taken in June. Onions and Garlic are now harvested.
Butter Crunch Lettuce (still going strong) Melons on trellis - they now have babies.
Baby Carrots and Beets. Already harvested and froze quite a few beets. Am planting more where the garlic was. The baby carrots are not doing well. Other years they get bigger than baby carrots. I think that particular box might not be where it likes to be. Had them in another location for 3 years that got more shade during the hottest part of the day and also was easier to keep the moisture even.

Re: 2014 Garden pics
Thanks.
Living in a heavily wooded area means that I can plant in my front yard without the neighbors having a fit.
The older I get the harder it is to keep up with all the yard work but isn't that what family it for? (come help Grandma) That's why I changed to SFG so I wouldn't have to work so hard. Took lots of time and hard work to get it built but now it's easy.

Lucky you! I have a volunteer tomato plant in the front yard flower garden and my husband keeps wanting to take it out!
Re: 2014 Garden pics
We have gone way too far with rules regarding private property. I realize that there are some who abuse the neighborhood with a messy yard but most people don't. Fine the messy yard and charge them for a yard "do over" and leave the rest of the people alone. Okay, I guess I can say this because I don't live in a town or city.sanderson wrote:greatgranny wrote:Thanks.

Re: 2014 Garden pics
I would share some with you but I am quite sure it would be a wilted mess by the time it got to your house.
I'm getting a bit tired of it and have been giving lots to kids and grandkids.
