I have a family of these sitting in the crux of where my Kale leaves meet the stem.  BT does nothing to them and I'm wondering if I need to worry about them and take action?

Hard to see much of it. Have you tried bugguide.net? It looks like a beetle from this angle.

After reading up on the information, I decided to remove as many as possible.  I used my Shop Vac and was able to suck all the visible critters off my kale and Brussels Sprout plants.  I will keep a vacuuming vigil and post updates. thanks
