Blackbirds eating my pea seeds.

Any ideas on how to keep the black birds from eating my pea seeds? I've planted 3 times and the birds have dug up every one of the them. Any help appreciated!

Lay some planks across the bed ( not on the soil surface) or cover with netting until they sprout. You may want to wait a bit on peas, they prefer cooler weather than high summer heat.

I always have to cover my peas with netting. The finches will eat the seedlings, even the tender shoots as they grow taller.

Row cover works for a while, too. It has kept the birds off my bean seedlings, which, like peas, birds love. Keeps in a little moisture, too, while the seeds germinate, which is great in our hot, dry summer. I take it off after the first set or so of true leaves grow out a little.
