Vacuum bag contents for compost pile?
Any reason for not doing this? I'm going to do it unless I hear otherwise. Mine is 90% dog hair at least. Hard wood floors and a few rugs. No chemicals on the rugs.

Can you even buy a rug, outside some hand-crafted throw rug, that hasn't been treated with chemicals these days? And aren't virtually all of them made with some sort of petrochemical derivative?

Yikes! You're right. I only thought of no cleaning chemicals because they're only cleaned by hitting them with water and a jet sprayer. And, they are far from being handcrafted natural materials.
Okay I can live without it rather than mess my compost up with petrochemical lint.

I like your stance ,
Now , how are you going to stop soil , air & rain water borne pollution affecting your compost heap ,plus all the chemicals in the materials you make your compost from such as exotic fruit skins & imported veg that has been treated with goodness knows what ?
All the " fluff & muck "taken off the carpets & from emptying the cleaner seems to stay in a ball once the dog hair rots down ( takes about 3 years ) .
I guess that any food packaging that results in a waste product you can compost will have imparted some of the unsavoury chemical molecules into the waste .

I can't keep every smidgen of chemical out of the compost pile, that's true.
I had no idea dog hair took that long to decompose.
