Everyone okay?
Storm just left our area (north of Atlanta, GA) & the tornado watch has been cancelled. Winds are dying a bit. No damage at our place. But more rain, etc. coming.
Yolos? Windmere? I see south of Atlanta is still getting pounded this morning.
Bob? How is your area?
Everyone else okay?
Radar shows the front just circling around. Looks like East PA, East NY, WV, & OH are also still in it for a while. Circling back into NE & KS after covering MI & lower Canada.
What a mess...

All my veggies survived okay. The storm sounded ferocious, high winds, lightening, but we only got about 1/2 inch of rain. It is supposed to hit again tonight.

Re: Everyone okay?
We ended up riding out the storm here in Pleasant Grove, AL without too much damage. Major rain, lightening and winds for us. Thankfully, the closest tornado to us this time was about 10 miles away. The areas here that were hit the hardest did result in the loss of life of one of our University's athletes (a swimmer) and complete destruction of several buildings in surrounding areas. Very sad situation.
For me personally, my little garden had some issues that I posted about in General Discussion. If you happen to read it, any advice is welcomed and appreciated.
I'm so glad you all made it through okay! Now we need to buckle down for the new ones coming through today and tonight. Ugh!

Re: Everyone okay?
We received a very sad email from FamilyLife, which is an organization we have volunteered with for over 15 years. They are dedicated to helping build up struggling marriages and strengthen families. One of our colleagues and two of his daughters were killed, and their home destroyed. The entire family of nine were seeking shelter in the home at the time, his wife and surviving children are devastated.
Another colleague and his family had their home completely destroyed but were personally safe.
Life can change in a fraction of a second...

Oh how horrible! I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your colleague and his daughters. And the others who lost their home. That is so very sad for all involved. My heart breaks for them, their family, friends and for you.

Re: Everyone okay?
I am about 15 minutes away from the area in arkansas that was hit on sunday and we lost a friend, was laying over his children to protect them, and have a few other friends that have all lost their homes. We are working with our church over the next few week to help with clean up. It is like everyone has posted before, life changes so quickly.

So sorry to hear of the loss of life. Breaks my heart to hear of a dad covering for his children. The ultimate love. Reminds me of someone I know.

Re: Everyone okay?
Tag, we are praying for your friends and for the area, and will be for the long haul. We lived through a fire storm in Southern California that took 265 homes in our little community and 2 lives. We saw first hand the loooong road to recovery for a community that faces sudden disaster.
Even those that didn't lose property or people will be deeply affected for a long time. The best way to recover is together and it sounds like you and your church will be a big part of that for each other.
Blessings,
Audrey
