TT Question
Back gardening after three years absence! Woohoo. I am up in the wilds of Warner Springs CA and I am using the fenced paddock to put my table tops. I have a piece of 8'X32" marine plywood that I am using for a base and building the sides with 8"X1" planks. I will be putting holes in the plywood. That is all on top of two saw horses.
Question - I was going to line with weed cloth to keep excess dirt from being lost but wondering if I need to do anything about the place where the planks meet the plywood (the perimeter)? Will I lose too much water there? Should I line with thick garbage bags there or caulk? Amazing what you don't know you don't know until you do it.

Re: TT Question
Chopper,
It's nice to see that you're putting down roots long enough to have a garden!
I wouldn't worry about the joints. Anything smaller than ¼ will soon get plugged.

Re: TT Question
Welcome back Chopper!
I used duct tape to fasten sections of weed cloth up the sides of my vinyl fence post garden once upon a time. I just needed the duct tape to hold the weed cloth in place until I could hold it down with the MM, which it did. But when I disassembled my garden a few years later, I definitely noticed that the duct tape wasn't doing anything anymore. It's no match for dirt and water.

Re: TT Question
Good point Gwennifer. I notivced when I water it does come out one end more than the rest. I may caulk. Here in So Cal better not to let too much water escape. :0 And I hear you about the duct tape. It is a temp solution at best. Thanks for the feedback. I was going to nail in the weed cloth and then I thought "What?!!!" No need. The MM did the holding down part.gwennifer wrote:Welcome back Chopper!
