Started my new greenhouse
The day after Christmas I took my farm truck into town to Tractor Supply and got two cattle panels and then to Ace for 2x4's and fence staples. I am building that hoop greenhouse that was posted on this forum several months ago. I put the frame together put in the two panels and stapled the panels to the frame and wire tied the two panels together in less than two hours. I will put the front and back frames in and then post a picture. The greenhouse is 7' by 8' 6" by 6' 3 inches tall. Perfect size for the garden area. I am building the greenhouse now because I am banned from the kitchen until my three fingers heal and the burns on the top of both feet heal. Then I will be allowed to return and practice with my new pressure canner from Santa.

Oh, dear, John, ouch!
Although I'm sorry you are burned, I have to confess I did
I love your profile photo! Good luck with your greenhouse!

I haven't tried canning yet, but I am going to make a mental note to wear shoes when I do. Ouch!

Re: Started my new greenhouse
Sorry for not responding but I went home from work on Friday and left the comp. at work. I got caught up in buying parts for my greenhouse. I got both ends done on sat. before the weather changed. I will try to post a pic. but if not I will change my avatar. All my disasters happened on Christmas day. We were making dinner for my wife's mother and taking it up to her home. She lives in an assisted living center but independent. My wife was blanching green beans in the spaghetti cooker and I was peeling potatoes when she asked me to put the beans in the ice water. Now I know I am supposed to take the whole pot over to the sink and then put the inner container into the ice. Well I grabbed the two handles an pulled the inner container out with boiling water all over the stove, floor and my two bare feet. At her mother's home (she doesn't cook) we were searching the kitchen for a knife to carve the ham. I found an old serrated knife that may work. I was cutting away when the knife slipped on the ham bone and got the top of two fingers. Then we couldn't find any bandages. Well we got through that and left the presents for her brother and family and went home. That evening we were making a ham casserole when she asked me to grate some chees . I did along with my thumb. That's when she kicked me out. All healed up now.

Glad you're OK. Talk about having a bad day! I'm surprised that your wife even let you into the kitchen for the evening meal!
Re: Started my new greenhouse
She didn't. I was told to go sit in my chair in the family room and not touch anything, not even the remote. She brought me some of the casserole with a spoon. I'm surprised she didn't bring me a drink in my grand daughter's Sippy cup.

Re: Started my new greenhouse
Thanks all for your responses. I am still getting kidded about my skills. I will be building and installing the three windows and the door today so all that will be left is to skin it which I will do this weekend weather permitting. I will put two 2x5 boxes on each side and two plastic barrels at the end. On top of the barrels I will put a shelf for starts and other potted plants. I want to put in a remote read thermometer but the distance to the house is about 100 ft. and the signal would travel through a double sided solid fence and then to the house. Does anyone have experience with the remote reads or does anyone have a brand that is better or one that reads to a long distance?
