Uh oh! Looks like I have some Wabbit Twouble. What is the best way to take care of this? I was thinking chicken wire around the boxes, any ideas?

I use an owl.
I got a fake owl at the garden center for $20. Its head wobbles and moves in the wind. So far my broccoli has not been eaten any further. My yard is fenced, but they still manage to sneak under them. I move the owl every day or two to another place in the garden, just to keep them wondering.

I sprinkled some stinky stuff around my boxes last year - http://www.bestnest.com/bestnest/RTProduct.asp?SKU=BOP-233&src=froogle&kw=BOP-233 - and I didn't have a problem. Maybe they were just lulling me into a false sense of security, but I know I have wascally wabbits here on the property, and so far last year there were no casualties.

huh, I told martha last year that she had a new neighbor-she must have scared him off...
dogs are the answer
Our dogs keep our yard rabbit free. Our doberman especially has some sort of 6th sense about rabbits and knows if they are in the yard. We've had to pry many a dead rabbit out of our dogs mouths. Now the rabbits avoid our yard like the plague.

Yup, a Doberman would do the job especially if it caught a few of the rabbits. As for the garden owls, they have one that moves its head and hoots in response to sound and motion. They have it on Amazon for about $30. I haven't tried it and it does get mixed reviews but it is probably cheaper then keeping a Dobie in the yard.

I ended up using chicken wire, it was the quickest fix. The doberman would work real well but I am using a friend's yard for my garden. I like the idea of the owl but the nearest place to go shopping is 30 - 40 min. away. We do have a lumber yard down the road and they had what I needed. Thanks for all the ideas. You guys are great.
