Hi all!  I am so thrilled to have found this site.  cheers

I did SFG many years ago after reading Mel's first book and was moderately successful.  However, we moved to a heavily wooded area and I have not been able to get a good garden spot going.  This year, we are clearing 6 acres and I will once again be able to have my garden.  I already have the 2nd edition of Mel's book on order and it should arrive soon.  Very Happy  I am originally from New England and I have found that growing in Florida to be much more of a challenge, but we can grow here 3 seasons once I get the beds (cinderblock raised beds) made and the MM in place.  The "soil" (if you can call it that) that we have here is sand.  Great for poison ivy and sandspurs, but not much else.  So I am starting to get the components together and will post pics once we get going.  I look forward to learning from all of you.  Very Happy

Hi Becky and Welcome glad you\'re here to the SFG Forum. I am excited you are going to be able to garden again. There have been drastic changes from Mel's original SFG to the All New Square Foot Gardening book. Most importantly is that you will not use any native soil at all.

To read about the basics, go to the main page and click on the 'Hover' tab on the left. The best reading to get back into the SFG program.

Cheers!
