Garden Sword

Hubby and I designed this to water our raised beds. thinking

It's portable, which we love, lightweight and really covers the beds well so far. We only made one at this point to see what we need to tweak, but so far so good! Kind of hard to see, but there are emitters on the bottom of the pvc that spray a really nice spray without blasting the soil away. It sits on the edges of the garden beds, just above the soil, or you can lay it on top of the "covers" that we've made to keep critters/cabbage moths/ etc out. The end of it sort of looks like a sword where the hose hooks on...lol hiddenID

I really like your idea SG. I am researching ways to water my beds next season and you have given me some inspiration.

that's good Bob! Been thinking about something like this for a while. I don't want a permanent set up in the beds...seems like "things" in the bed harbor slugs, snails, rollie pollies etc. It would probably work for a 4x4 bed too, just turn the water on a little higher. We'll mess with it a little more and if it works well, we'll make 3-4 more. Most of our beds are long and narrow, so it works well for the "sword" lol. Let me know how you do!!

Awww...thank you! She was a ballerina tonight, so cute! Those covers have really worked well for us. You can put shade cloth over them in the summer if need be. Really does a good job of keeping cabbage moths and birds out too. I like them because you can water right through and see what's going on Smile
