Had a few minutes to do a little picking.
In between my cukes having wilt and some kind of fungus, my peppers growing very slowly until recently, my pumpkin leaves having a gray dust on them, vine borers killing my squash and zukes, I managed to squeeze a couple of successes in there.
now I have new problems like birds assuming I grow tomatoes for them, jalapenos that number more than I feel safe eating in one week, and pumpkin pie LONG before Thanksgiving lol. All this plus I now need a ladder to get to my 11+ foot tomato and pumpkin plants. I guess a 10 foot trellis wasn't enough lol.

I picked one yesterday and have another that will probably be ready in a week. All my acorn squash had to be picked as well.

Freeze your jalapenos and any other hot peppers. I just throw mine in freezer bags and pull them out all winter as needed. Use lose some texture, but them are fine in every other way.ncst8guy wrote:In between my cukes having wilt and some kind of fungus, my peppers growing very slowly until recently, my pumpkin leaves having a gray dust on them, vine borers killing my squash and zukes, I managed to squeeze a couple of successes in there.

Very nice pickings and pumpkins! I've got to try a mini-pumpkin next year.

My DH said last yr "Why have pumpkin pie only for Thanksgiving?" We had pumpkin pie for Labor Day weekend!
