Re: The Wilmington NC garden pics
A pepper plant but showing the bin of volunteer potatoes from a missed one last year and the determanent tomatoes in the background
Grandaddy Hab. this is his 3rd summer. Sweet potato vines in cement mixing tub on lower left
Celebrity Det tomato.
more det maters and son standing in front of indet (see the white poles)
more maters
nice dill going in pot in front of gardenia plant that I fed while I was there.
blooming squash
rest of bed with the blooming squash. Other squashes and okra not doing so well. I top dressed while I was there and replanted the trellis area with beans where the peas had been.
carrot week carrots, eggplants and beans planted.
onions and celery stumps. planted asian long beans next to trellis, edemame in middle 4 squares, butternut squash on back and front edges. Caught the squirrel in the beans and squash seeds the next morning and had to make some quick temp covers of tulle before I left town. improvised grid as I couldn't find his roll of mason's string that we usually use.
overall view of the non pond beds
great white beefsteak tomatoes. He has two plants and is getting a good crop this year. Last year he only got 2 tomatoes but they were so tasty he asked for additional plants this year. This is one of the tomatoes in a shady spot. Gets morning sun.
The shady tomatoes. All but one have bloomed and set tomatoes, but the front row is doing best.
Indet maters down by the peppers
tomatoes and cukes on cattle panel in front of the squash and cuke bed
the second cattle panel of tomatoes and cukes. pond beds are pretty empty right now. all the lettuce, bok choy and greens are gone so waiting for fall crop planting at end of July, early Aug. Some chard is still surviving under the tarp. I sprayed the heck out of the lacy collards under the tarps and we will see if they make a comback. Maters are hiding the 4 sunflowers that were just starting to show a bloom bud.

I bought the seed from The Farmer's Supply Store on Oleander. They carry seed from a NC seed company, Wyatt-Quarles seeds out of Garner, NC
