Is this Leaf Spot on my Tomatoes?
Several of the lower leaves on my Heirloom Tommy Toe tomatoes have spots, are turning yellow, then shriveling up and falling off. We have been having heavy rains for several days straight here in KY. These plants are volunteers that came up from my giant tomato plant of last year. There are 5 or 6 plants that came up between the bricks, just off my patio. That mother plant from last year produced over 1000 beautiful tomatoes. These plants appeared to be fine last week.
I took this picture 2 days ago, and started searching for answers. I thought that it looked like leaf spot. What do you all think?

Looking at the pictures that I took last night, when enlarging them, I see a little white insect. Is that an aphid?
But that is the only one that I see. So did this critter cause all of this damage? Or do I have two different problems?

If only that was an aphid but it's not. I don't know anything about diseases.

, yes I did look through the disease forum and the links. It was on the Cornell site where I saw info on leaf spot and their pics of Septoria Leaf Spot was the closest to mine. That is when I decided to post here, to see what you experts thought.

No, not an organic solution. Any advice appreciated.

So I am going to do some research to help you. Please think about contacting your County Extension Service Agriculture Agent for advice. Maybe even give them a call or go see them if they are close.unit649 wrote:No, not an organic solution. Any advice appreciated.
Also, go out to your garden with a garbage sack and cut off all visible signs of the fungus and trash it. Wash you hands and clippers well afterwards. When watering, water the Mel's mix, not the plants.

Re: Is this Leaf Spot on my Tomatoes?
I picked the worst damaged leaves off but it appears to be on almost all of the leaves.
I will have to wait to take the leaves to the county extension office, because I am going into the hospital tomorrow for a heart cath.
I did find one source that recommended 1 1/2 tsp hydrogen peroxide diluted in 1 cup water and used as a spray. I tried that so we will see.

Re: Is this Leaf Spot on my Tomatoes?
The hydrogen peroxide seems to have helped my tomatoes. They are hanging on.
I also made up the baking soda solution and sprayed on. The tomatoes with the most damage are looking better with green tops. Crossing my fingers.

Here is a pic of the Tommy Toe Tomato Plants that have Septoria Leaf Spot. They are stripped of their bottom leaves, but the tops are looking good or at least better.
