Hello!

Here is a pic of my SFG, and if you look at the back right I have a huge squash bush haha.  Not really, but the green squash plant is taking over the SFG!  It seems to be causing a chili pepper, narstatium, and 3 other sqash plants an issue with growing.

Also, it has little flower buds but no veggies.  I don't know if this is normal, if the size is normal, or if there is any pruning, etc I should be doing to keep it from stealing all of the sun from it's neighbors.  Any thoughts or suggestions?

Give it something to climb! A trellis, or at least a tall tomato cage...

My melon plant is/was doing the same thing. I was even kind of wondering about the flower buds (grape-sized) that I thought seemed to be not really developing into fruit...then I pruned some of it to keep it sane...

Found four "buds" the size of apples! So I got crenshaw melons on the way...

yay for your melons!  I didn't get mine planted yet so I wonder if I should wait until next year.  I am not sure the squash plant will grow up anything as they are quite sturdy thick stems are shooting straight up into the air with no staking or aids!

Can you prune a squash plant?  I will have to do some research - I have never pruned anything before.

Keep watching...if you see the plant throw a tendril out, it wants to climb. They are of the cucurbit family IIRC, and the majority of those are viners.
