I have a set of 2 4x8 foot boxes and I am going to be moving them to their final location, they will have a 3 foot path between them. Should I have the 4 foot sides facing north or the 8 foot sides facing north? Is there a benefit to the direction they face?

As of now I have 4 tomato plants, 8 pepper plants, 2 zucchini and 2 cucumber plants, and a variety of seed packets to start some now and some mid-summer for fall crops.

I would have the 8' sides facing north; more room for trellises for climbing vegetables!

+1 Also less worry about taller plants shading shorter ones.

You will want you taller plant/ climbing plant on the north side so that they don't shade you other crops. Based on what you have listed I would put both with 8ft side facing north.
