Pepper Plants damaged by...

I put planted my pepper out in the garden just last Saturday and not sure what is wrong with them. We have had rain and wind, very strong wind, on and off since then. Not sure if the damage was cause by that or something else. I know that there are bunnies near by but don't think that they did this damage. I also know that there are these prairie dogs, at least that is what they look like, near by, but don't think it is them either. Please help!!! affraid

These pepper are the one thing that my husband request each year in the garden. I really don't want to lose them.

As you can see where the leaves are rip/torn it has turn a really dark green. Like when leaf lettuce goes bad.

If the leaves are ripped or torn and you have not had a hail storm I suspect bunnies, or some other critter. I suggest fencing is they way to go to prevent further buffet opportunities.
