The first set of transplants that I put in my newly built SFG were eaten to the stem in 2 hours in the afternoon. So I bought more, and had them on a table while I worked on building a cover. By morning, both vegetable and flower leaves were gone! No

could it be birds? they demolished my garden a few weeks ago. I have to keep things well covered or they think it's their personal salad bar. Did it happen during the daytime?

Yes, the first time it was in the afternoon. I never knew birds would chomp off the leaves! I guess I'll be going to Home Depot for bird netting and more seedlings. Thanks for the feedback.

I found out just like you did! They stripped my tomato plants back to the stumps in just a few hours. They love lettuce too, and they'll pull up your seedlings...sometimes they just pull them up and leave them.........grrrrrrrrrrrrr. Good luck!!

Might be a squirrel but I bet it is a bird. On top of eating greens, they are looking for bugs/worms. The bird netting will fix it if it's birds.
