buying ingredients for mix near Westfield/Mt Airy, Stokes/Surrey Counties
Question for the North Carolina folks who live near Westfield/Mt Airy, or in Stokes/Surrey Counties.
My fiance' is building his beds this weekend (weather permitting) and he lives way out in the country near the Virginia border. Can you recommend where he might be able to find vermiculite/perlite? (he wants the perlite added because he's building self-watering beds, and he thinks he needs it for that, so he's combining the two.). Also, good compost resources? There is a Lowes in Mt Airy, but I'm hoping there is another place where he may be able to get things a little cheaper, like a nursery/landscaper or something. He can go to Winston-Salem if he needs to. Also, can anyone recommend a good hydroponics store nearby? He may need to get some specialty items. Thanks bunches!

This place sounds pretty close. They have a whole section on SFG and just about any thing you need. You can spend hours reading all the info they have on their site. I would love to get some products from them but shipping it up north as very expensive.

Thanks chjbr63! I'll forward the information to him.

Oh Floyd is pretty close. We went to FloydFest last summer (music festival) for the last day. It was a blast! Awesome bluegrass music.
