Just making sure . . . it's the All New SFG book and not the original, right?
I'm also glad you found the Forum!
I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle

Re: Hello from a wanna be SFG
What is it that you are unsure about? One thing I really like about this method is that with Mel's Mix you can't over water because the excess water just washes away from your above ground SFG. With the water retention of Mel's Mix I have in the past forgot about watering for a day or 3 and my garden was still there and after a good watering picked back up. This method is a bit forgiving and easier that other methods but you do have to get the steps right at the beginning.
Start small with something you know you can handle and then you can expand next year if you like it.
